At Silly Monkeys Playhouse, our Mommy & Me classes have been central to early childhood development for 16 years. 

These classes are thoughtfully designed to grow with your child, encompassing their first experiences with music, movement, and sensory stimulation, while also nurturing social development, creativity, and early academics. Additionally, we emphasize learning how to participate confidently in a classroom environment through various parent-child activities.

What truly sets Silly Monkeys apart is the familiarity of our dedicated teachers who accompany your child's journey as they grow. We get to know our little monkeys, observe their personalities blossom, celebrate their milestones, and help them become increasingly comfortable and confident in group settings.

During the first years of life, children are constantly learning through what they see, hear, touch, feel, and experience. Our Mommy & Me classes offer enriching parent-child activities that create opportunities for babies and toddlers to explore these experiences alongside the person they trust most—their parent or caregiver. Through music, movement, sensory exploration, creative activities, and purposeful play, we foster early childhood development by encouraging auditory, visual, tactile, social, and physical growth while strengthening body awareness and the bond between parent and child. Development isn't solely about what a child can do; it's also about learning how to interact with others. Gradually, children become comfortable participating in a group, following simple directions, taking turns, sharing, listening to their teacher, and transitioning from one activity to another. These foundational experiences build the confidence and classroom behaviors essential for preschool and beyond.

One of the things that makes Silly Monkeys unique is the continuity of our early childhood development program. A baby may begin with music, bonding, and gentle sensory stimulation. As they grow, those experiences evolve into movement, fine and gross motor development, socialization, creativity, language, and increasingly independent participation. Eventually, our older little monkeys are ready for more structured learning experiences that introduce early academic concepts, themed lessons, listening skills, following directions, and classroom routines. This progression happens naturally through parent-child activities: Stimulate → Explore → Socialize → Create → Learn → Build Confidence. We aren't trying to rush children into academics; instead, we focus on creating the developmental foundation that helps them become ready to learn.

After 16 years of Mommy & Me classes in Coconut Grove, we've discovered that the true magic lies not in any single activity but in fostering an environment where children feel safe to explore, comfortable to participate, and excited to return each week. 

Our classes are designed to enhance early childhood development, combining early childhood stimulation, music, sensory experiences, movement, creativity, social development, and early learning within a playful space created specifically for little ones. 

Parents engage in parent-child activities too—sharing songs, movement, discoveries, and plenty of silly moments along the way.
